Thanks for joining us, and the rest of the bluedot community, for A Weekend in Outer Space!
This year’s bluedot festival was sadly postponed to 2021 due the coronavirus outbreak but we’re thrilled to be able to share with you our unique blend of science, music and cosmic culture, in a smaller, more virtual setting instead! Here at Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre we’re driven by a mission to engage and inspire others with the science and stories of this incredible site and bluedot is a key part of this. Although nothing quite compares to enjoying the festival at Jodrell, in the shadow of the mighty Lovell Telescope, we hope you have a great time online, discover something new, and enjoy reminiscing on festivals past.
Support Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre
Since opening in 2011, Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre has welcomed over 1.3 million visitors through its doors, inspiring people from all backgrounds with the ground-breaking science and heritage of this important UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On 17th March this year, the site temporarily closed to the public in response to Covid-19. This was a huge blow to the Discovery Centre. Over 85% of our income is generated from admissions, educational visits, group bookings, and sales in our café and gift shop, all of which rely on us being open.
There is no doubt that we, like many others, have been facing unprecedented challenges over the last few months but we’re working hard behind the scenes to re-build, re-open and get back to what we do best.
We understand that this is a difficult time for many. However, if you are able to support us by making a donation and helping us to continue to protect, celebrate and share this extraordinary place, it would be hugely appreciated.
Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre is part of The University of Manchester and is a registered charity. (XR82062)
