Ever wondered if there’s another school group out there looking back at you?

Each year, we welcome thousands of school children from across the Universe to Jodrell Bank.

Our engaging schools programme provides curriculum-linked learning for each Key Stage from Early Years to A-Level. Priced at just £10 per child and £13 per adult, packages include planetarium sessions, Explainer-led shows and self-guided tours of our exhibitions.

EARLY YEARS

For little earthings, aged 3-5 in Nursery and Reception.
Join us on special days throughout the year and discover the wonders of the cosmos.

Available from 2023 onwards

KEY STAGE 1

Ages 5-7 (Years 1-2)
Learn about the Sun and the Moon in our Space Dome and discover the excitement of the first night at Jodrell Bank with our explainer-led session. KS1 visits take place on the first and third Fridays of each month.

KEY STAGE 2

Ages 7-11 (Years 3-6)
Tour the Solar System and discover constellations in our Space Dome. During an explainer-led session we’ll use demonstrations to explore how telescopes, like the Lovell, have changed our view of the Universe.

KEY STAGE 3

Ages 11-14 (Years 7-9)
KS3 groups are welcome on self-guided visits to explore our exhibitions, including our new First Light Pavilion which tells the story of Jodrell Bank’s development during the post-war years and showcases our role during the Cold War and Space Race.

KEY STAGE 4

Ages 14-16 (Years 10-11)
KS4 groups are welcome on self-guided visits to explore our exhibitions, including our new First Light Pavilion which tells the story of Jodrell Bank’s development during the post-war years and showcases our role during the Cold War and Space Race.

A LEVEL

Ages 17-18 (Years 12-13)
Explore Jodrell Bank on a self-guided visit and book onto a public planetarium show to enhance the experience. Use real radio telescope data to calculate the mass of a galaxy in our “Radio Telescopes” workshop session, delivered live online in advance, or after your visit.
