Book your A-Level visit to Jodrell Bank

School visits require a minimum of 15 students. Efforts are made to accommodate smaller groups, but this is subject to availability.

Prices: £12 per student, £15 per adult
A-Level groups receive 1 free adult ticket for every 15 students.
Adults providing 1:1 support to students with additional needs are also welcomed free of charge.
A-level groups are given the option to add-on a Space Dome Show.

A-Level visits are scheduled to start at 10am and finish at 2pm. Visits are self-led, and we will send an itinerary 1-week before the visit allocating times in each of the galleries. We recommend downloading our exhibition worksheets to help students gain more from the exhibits.
During the visit, you will have a Radio Telescope Workshop where the group will learn about the Lovell Telescope, why it is the size it is, why it has the shape it has, and why it uses radio waves. In the workshop, the group will use maths to calculate the mass of a galaxy using real telescope data.
A-Level groups are given the option to add-on a Space Dome Show for an additional charge. The Space Dome Show is an immersive film which covers topics like our cosmic origins, the evolution of stars, and the nuclear fusion that creates elements.
A visit schedule will approximately be as follows:
- 10am arrival
- Radio Telescope Workshop
- Time to explore exhibitions
- Space Dome Show (optional – additional charge)
- Lunch (an indoor eating area will be provided)
- 2pm departure
