New crew member!
Posted 21 Oct, 2022
In September 2022 we welcomed another new recruit to our growing and dedicated team here at Jodrell Bank Centre for Engagement, Lauren Barton, joined us at the beginning of September as our new Events Production Manager leading on our programme relaunch following the pandemic.
Lauren joins us from Walk the Plank, a Salford based outdoor arts organisation, where she was Senior Production Manager and Producer. She has a wealth of experience working in varied roles across the arts over the last 12 years. We’re really excited to have her join the team. Lauren says,
“I feel incredibly lucky to be working at Jodrell Bank – what a beautiful place to work with such a warm, welcoming, and dedicated team. I never felt like science was for me when I was at school – I had to work really hard at it and it didn’t come naturally but since starting here I have been so inspired by the live science that is happening on a daily basis.
The team are brilliant at taking a complex idea and making it accessible and understandable for all and because we’re part of the University of Manchester we are able to work with leading Astrophysicists who bring their research to the public – what an incredible opportunity to engage with outer space! I’m really excited to relaunch the programme and engage with our new and existing visitors.”

Lauren is currently working on the Lovell Lecture series taking place this Autumn/Winter, Meet the Expert in the October half term and our winter and spring offers – keep an eye on our website for more information!
