Lovell Lecture Series 2026
19.30 – 21.00
Though largely invisible to the naked eye, over 12,000 operational satellites currently circle Earth, delivering essential services that transform life on our planet and enabling countless critical applications. Yet with satellite launches accelerating at an unexpected rate, we face the question – how can we harness space technology’s benefits whilst ensuring we build a truly sustainable space future?
Join Dr Ciara McGrath to explore the opportunities and environmental challenges that define modern space exploration and, using augmented reality, glimpse into what our orbital environment might look like in 10 years. Learn how to access space data from your home, pick up practical tips on being responsible space user, and discover why the most crucial part of building a sustainable space future actually comes down to you.
