The countdown is on for Wednesday 12 August, when the Moon will cover the majority of the Sun during a partial solar eclipse.

(88-95% coverage, 18.15 – 20.04 at Jodrell Bank, precise times and coverage vary with location).

To celebrate this celestial event, we’ll be open until 20.00 offering guided solar observing sessions (weather permitting), an immersive Space Dome film celebrating the Sun, and cyanotype crafting.

*Remember – never observe the Sun directly with the naked eye or any optical device that doesn’t have a special solar filter.
