Join UNE for a unique evening of live music and conversation inside Jodrell Bank’s spectacular Space Dome.
UNE are an electronic dream-pop and ambient duo made up of BBC radio broadcaster and musician Mark Radcliffe and electronic producer and former Haçienda DJ Paul Langley. For this special event, they’ll perform their brand-new album, Dark Side of the UNE, in full, alongside a selection of familiar favourites from across their career.
Featuring live vocals from Mark Radcliffe, the music will be accompanied by stunning full-dome visuals created in collaboration with the Jodrell Bank team. Journey through the Milky Way, travel around the planets and dance among the nebulae as the Space Dome is transformed into a fully immersive audio-visual experience.
The evening will also feature an informal in-conversation session with Mark Radcliffe and Professor Tim O’Brien, exploring the stories and ideas behind the album, from the wonders of space and the iconic Lovell Telescope to the science, discoveries and creative inspiration that have made Jodrell Bank famous around the world.
The event marks a special reunion for UNE and Jodrell Bank, following one of the duo’s earliest performances at bluedot festival in 2018. With only 100 tickets available, this promises to be an intimate and truly one-of-a-kind night for fans of UNE, live music and astronomy.
With special thanks to Mark Radcliffe and Paul Langley, all profits from the event will be donated to Jodrell Bank, supporting future science engagement activities and helping to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, stargazers and explorers.
This event forms part of Curious Universe, Jodrell Bank’s wider cultural season exploring the beauty of the cosmos through film, performance, and family activities.
The First Light Pavilion Café will be open selling drinks, snacks, and sweet treats.
