About Annie Hogan:

My love for textiles began when I started working on a patchwork & quilt magazine in 2011, where I was drawn to all the pretty fabrics and the pleasing geometry of patchwork and English paper piecing. It wasn’t long before I bought my first sewing machine and started making my own quilts.

My maternal grandmother was a prolific knitter and crocheter, she taught me how to do both when I was little but it wasn’t until around the time of the quilt magazine that I picked up knitting and crochet with a passion. More recently, in 2019, I became interested in embroidery which, together with my first love (quilts!), formed the foundation of the Royal Astronomical Society’s Bicentennial Quilts Project (find out more here).
