Astro Night: Valentine’s Special
14 Feb, 2026
£20 – £24
Saturday 14 February, 2026. 19.00 – 21.30.
Looking for a unique way to celebrate Valentine’s Day? Adults can join us for an enchanting evening under the stars at our UNESCO World Heritage Site, nestled in the Cheshire countryside…
Embark on a journey through the Solar System together in our planetarium-style Space Dome, with an immersive show exploring the mythology, culture, and science around the planet Venus (named for the Roman goddess of love).
Sip on prosecco or no-secco alternative and get hands on with a selection of telescopes and binoculars, where (weather permitting) our expert team will guide you through the fundamentals of stargazing!
Guests can also take home a one-of-a-kind keepsake from ink and watercolour artist, Nina Nowak, who will capture your couple’s portrait in a stellar sketch against the cosmic backdrop.
Plus, add-on a picnic under the stars with our Valentine’s Afternoon Tea for Two, including a selection of finger sandwiches, cakes, and a scone served with clotted cream and jam, accompanied by your choice of tea or coffee.
Due to the popularity of these events, we recommend booking early to secure your spot.
This event is recommended for adults.
Please note that observing the night sky is weather permitting, and appropriate clothing is recommended (warm clothes and sturdy shoes). If weather conditions are poor, alternative activities will be on offer and the event will happen as scheduled.
Please let us know if you have any access requirements before the event so we can best support you by contacting jodrellbank@manchester.ac.uk. Find out more about our accessibility here.
