We’re delighted to be able to fully re-open The Planet Cafe at Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre and are thrilled to launch a brand new menu full of fresh, local and sustainable produce.
The Planet Cafe is run in-house by us and all profits raised from sales made in the Cafe are reinvested into furthering our mission to protect, share and celebrate this important site. We’re committed to ethcial and responsible purchasing and we strive to source items that make a postive impact on our local community and the environment.
Here are some of our fantastic suppliers…
All our milk is provided by the beautiful Bidlea herd at the diary down the road! By partnering with this wonderful local farming family, we’ve been able to massively cut food miles and eradicate the use of plastic milk bottles. What’s more, our milk is now as fresh as the day!

Nice Buns Bakery
Nice Buns Bakery Ltd is a specialist family run bakers in nearby Stockport. They freshly bake all our delicious teacakes, barms, tray bakes and scones. Yum!
H.M.Pasties was set up to ‘bring out the good inside’ by employing ex-offenders to make and sell delicious handmade Cornish-style pasties and pies. The social enterprise is supported by The Big Lottery Fund, Forward Trust, and the Santander Foundation.

Royles is a fantastic local butcher based in nearby Macclesfield. They provide the meat for our breakfast barms including their own special recipe Manchester sausages -thoroughly recommended!
