Monday – Friday, 20th – 24th February.
You’ll have heard of Einstein and Newton but what about Jocelyn Bell Burnell, Caroline Herschel and our very own Mary Almond? Learn more about the female astronomers who reached great scientific heights and their contributions to astronomy over centuries in our fun-packed family science show Reach for the Stars.
Perfect for all the family, you’ll explore the science behind great discoveries through a series of live experiments and demonstrations.
Our Reach for the Stars science show forms part of our series of events championing the achievements of female scientists in support of International Day of Women and Girls In Science Day (11th February 2017)
Shows run Monday to Friday at 10.30, 11.30, 12:30, 14.30 & 15.30 and you can call in advance on 01477 571766 to reserve your spot. Reservations can be made up to the day before your visit.
All ages welcome, but shows are recommended for ages 7+
The Discovery Centre will open a little earlier during half term so that families can arrive in good time for the first science show. So, from 20th – 24th February, we will be open from 9:30am instead of the usual 10am.
