As the Summer holidays draw to a close and Autumn appears just around the corner, we’re taking the opportunity to look back over the last year, and to look forward to the future.
It’s been a rather hectic 2021 so far, what with restrictions and re-openings, but we’ve been humbled by how kind and supportive our wonderful customers have been. Together, we’ve enjoyed a summer of science busking, trails, exhibitions, and craft activities, and we hope to continue to bring these popular activities to visitors in the coming months.
But, before we do, to give our staff a well-earned rest and to help us prepare for the Autumn/Winter season, the Discovery Centre will be closed to visitors from Saturday 4 – Friday 24 September.
After our closure break, from Saturday 25 September, we’ll be open every weekend with a new indoor daily Telescope Talk, complete with live demonstrations, and the ever-popular Astronomy Photographer of the Year exhibition continuing until 31 October.
We’ll be open on weekdays again for the October Half Term (Monday 25 – Friday 29 October) with a range of Operation Earth activities including a live science show, craft activities and a new family trail. We can’t wait to see you there!
We’re also looking forward to 2022 with two major celebrations coming up –the return of bluedot and the opening of the First Light Pavilion. Bluedot will be back at Jodrell Bank after its two year hiatus on 21-24 July, while we expect to be able to welcome visitors to First Light in the summer –watch this space!
So, thank you once again for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you back at Jodrell very soon.
The Discovery Centre Team.
